JCBL Marrel Tippers JML has announced an expansion plan of its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Oragadam, Chennai. A strategic expansion plan will assist in meeting the increased requirements of its diversified high-class products while remaining committed to sustainability.
This will enhance JML’s production capacity by 25%, allowing the company to better serve its growing customer base. The development is also an exciting diversification of its product portfolio that cuts across defense, automotive, railways, construction, petroleum transportation, mining, power transmission, and heavy fabrication components. JML has already witnessed a marked increase in its customer base through this expansion.
The first phase of the expansion has added over 60,000 sq-ft of new space to the existing 1 lakh square feet facility, with a second phase planned to add another 50,000 sq-ft. Additionally, JML has reserved approximately 6 acres of open land for future projects scheduled in FY 2025-26. This will increase 200 local jobs and present opportunities to approximately 40 new suppliers in this area and will benefit the local economy, primarily Tamil Nadu.
The state-of-the-art technological feature for the modernization process is laser cutting, robotic welding, CNC machining, airless painting technology, and heavy-duty EOT cranes. With these facilities, JML will gain increased operational efficiency, which it has maintained on its record for producing class products.
In line with its sustainability promise, JML has a 300KW solar power system that already supplies the facility with 1,350KW of power per day. The next 1200KW will supplement the solar generation, reaching a total of 6,750KW of daily energy. Additionally, the Water from the Air system is set to be implemented by JML to produce 1,500 liters of water every day for internal consumption to support its green manufacturing ambition.
The facility has a healthy water management system in the form of Sewage Treatment Plant (STP). This STP produces almost 6 KL of water daily for maintenance of greenery across the plant. The area of the entire plant is covered with a percentage of 30 by greenery, which really makes it an environment friendly and sustainable workplace.
According to Rishi Aggarwal, MD of JCBL Group, expansion in this way is not only about increasing production but also helps develop the greener and sustainable automobile industry in the near future.
